Late Bloomers

Original Photo

Impressionist Version
Well, its been a pretty cold spring here in northern Utah.  In spite of  it all this cherry tree has its buds.  I was impressed by that one plucky blossom that opened up before all of the others.  Hopefully a bee makes its way to it to pollinate before it dies.  I hope that you like the "impressionist" version as much as I did.  Like always my picture are free to download for personal use.  If you want to use it for commercial reasons please contact me first.

The Beauty of Thistles

Actual Photo
Hello Everyone.  Its been a while hasn't it?  One night I was out spraying mosquitoes and I had to wait about 15 minutes before I could start working.  The sky looked so amazing and I thought those thistles would look good in front of the sunset.

Like always you're all more than welcome to download the photos for personal reasons.  Contact me for commercial use.  Thanks..

Hike up Waterfall Canyon

Original Photo

Watercolor Version

Pastel Version
A few years ago my wife and I took a hike up Waterfall Canyon in Ogden, UT.  It was a very nice hike with lots of pretty scenery.  I loved how this stream looked.  I've actually had this picture on my office wall for quite a while.  For some reason it never occurred to me to convert it with an art filter.  I think the pastel filter did a good job with it.

Tulips at Temple Square

Original Photo

Artistic Version
I actually like the impressionist version of the photo more than the original.  I should have focused on the fountain more than on the flowers.  But like I said.  I really loved the art version.

Fountains of City Creek

Original Photo
Artistic VersionYest
Yesterday was my first time to City Creek Center which is a new "mall" in Salt Lake City.  I loved the fountains there and thought this picture turned out really well.  I know I'm not the first to take this shot but I think the oil painting version is unique.

St. George LDS Temple

Original Photo

A few years ago my wife and I went down to St. George, UT to escape the colder Wasatch Front weather.    It was certainly warmer there.  It was actually uncomfortable to sleep it was so much warmer.  I guess I need gradual changes in temperature.

Close to sunset my wife and I went to see the Temple and I took this picture.  I love how white the building is.  from a distance it really stands out.

Once again the the pictures are free to download from the links below for personal use.  If you intend to use it for commercial uses then you need to contact me first.

Springtime at Temple Square

Original photo
Color Charcoal version
Last May 4th my wife and I were at Temple Square for our anniversary.  The flowers were finally blooming even with the spring being really cold and wet.  I saw the yellow tulips and thought they would make a great Picture with all the other colors behind it.  I also thought the charcoal filter made for a nice artistic appearance.

Sunset in Farmington Bay, UT

original photo

"finger paint" filter
A few weeks ago I was in Farmington Bay for my other job and the sunset was as glorious as I've ever seen.  The only thing about this photo is that it reveals the imperfections of my camera.  I use a Kodak Easyshare ZD 710.  Its a "prosumer" camera.  It has let me take some very nice pictures; however it's no DSLR.

Personally I think the finger paint filter helps hide my camera's imperfections.  Overall I think it was a beautiful evening.

I love this picture.  A couple of years ago all my family went to Florida to visit my grandparents.  They live on bay front property in near Panama City.  This picture is of their neighbor's pier.  I hope you like it.  Such a shame I couldn't get their for sunrise also.

Once gain the links below are to download the full size photos.  They are free to use for personal use.  If you plan to use them for commercial reasons contact me about payment.

Bountiful Temple Spire

watercolor filter

A few years ago during the fall my wife and I went to the Bountiful temple.  While there I liked the pretty fall leaves.  Driving around the temple I noticed that I could take this picture with Moroni and the leaves.  I hope you enjoy.  taking pictures and making them artistic lets me express my faith.

Picture taking in Farmington, Utah

original photo
A couple of years of years ago my wife and I went to take a walk in Farmington, Utah.  When I saw this bridge and thought it would make for a good picture.  While I was looking at it I just loved how the sun was coming through the trees like that.  I like both the normal photo and the watercolor rendition underneath it.  I have the watercolor version hanging in my office wall.  I hope you enjoy.
